Endowments

Well me and my father did it. We went through the Jordan River Temple and received our Endowments. It was an amazing experience. I cant put into words how i felt, although i felt nothing what people warned me of. People said youll feel over whelmed and confused by the symbolism but for me it made a lot of sense, although i performed poorly remembering some of the things to say. The Jordan River temple is the busiest temple out there doing about 25% of the churches temple work (so i heard). Once the day break temple is complete west jordan will be the first city with two temples. every angel moroni faces east accept one, the Navoo temple. So those are some of the facts i can share i learned. Now for those who came with me, first and formost was my father, it was a cooperative effort on our parts that helped both of us along.

Secondly our escorts, my nephew Casey being mine and my bro-in-law kent being my fathers, thank you greatly. third of all my amazing sister lisa.

My brother-in-laws folks and sister joined as well with there daughter, thank you to them as well. And finally i have been blessed with the greatest friends a guy can have and to see Brad, Daniel, Steve, and Stephanie there made it all that more special. Afterwards one embraced me with tears of joy and i could not hold back, a truly magical experience. go to the temple, everyone!

Family campout

Well this year for my family campout we went to boulder utah. It is probable the coolest place on earth and it holds a special place amongst my family. We fished, shot guns, explored, cliff jumped, picniced, had some amazing meals, and most of all just enjoyed one anothers company.

Ps in this pic the river had a flash flood the night before thus it was so muddy, it seriously felt like swimming in chocalate milk

Yuba friends

well this is the second weekend of three busy weekends. It was a ton of fun hanging with friends in yuba despite the horrible weather. Yuba is known for it being windy but for the forth of july it was windy for about 48 hours straight which made for some great tubbing but not much else. But despite the weather we came through and had an amazing time. It had the usual horseshoes, sun, bbq, sand, friends, and all the other good stuff, but this year it had the addition of a night time rave. Brad and daniel came up with the brilliant idea to bring glow sticks. Brad was adorned from head to toe and ran screaming up and down the beach. Pretty darned funny. So to those who werent there well see you next year!

Jackson River Running

Well a couple weekends ago i got the opportunity to go up to jackson hole and run the snake river with my ward. It was a riot and was great because i didnt really feel like i knew too many in my ward and it was a chance to get to know some of them better. Now for the river. The guide said that this was the most water they have had since 99 and it was flowing at 20,000. that doesnt mean anything to me until you tell me that it ussually runs around 6,000. So some rapids were washed out while others were huge. One in particular was called lunch counter. they rate rapids on scales from 1 to 6, six being completely unrunable. lunch counter was a five. I got to sit on the front of the boat so i was the first to see the size of the beast. We fearlessly rowed into the heart of the monster. After rising about five feet from the first wave we faced about a 15 foot depression with about a ten foot wave waiting for us. Our lives dropped to supper slow mo as our impending doom approached. Then BAMB!!! I was knocked off the front of the boat and slammed into the dude behind me, but the river didnt get the best of me. From my seated position in the bottom of the boat (thats where i landed) i continued to paddle on, through the wave and came out victorious. Later on in the run the guide tried some fancy maneuvering and about got me ripped out the boat by the current and i lost my paddle, but considering that at that moment the boat almost tipped i consider one lost paddle a minor loss.

End of an Era

Today was the saddest day of my life. I sold my motorcycle. I know, its pure craziness. I just lost the coolest thing about me. On the coolness scale i went from like a +50 to a -50. I look at all the good times i had on that bike and i think to myself, man i didnt ride it very often. Financially it was the right thing to do but that doesnt make it any easier. Goal wise it puts me closer to a house, but again, it doesnt make it any easier. I guess maybe i am just getting old and am settling down a little. With the loss of the bike its going to be harder to find a wife as well, chicks love bikes. Or maybe i should stop looking for chicks and look for ladies, i dont really know. On a good note though, i have my next bike already picked out so in like thirty years when i can afford one ill be ready.
